It was a web slinging good time!
Jayden turned five this May! It's hard to believe that five years have passed. This year he chose Spider Man as the hero to theme his party around. We rented a fun jump Wet Slide and boy did the kids (both young and old) have fun on it. We extended the birthday party into a crawfish boil and we really enjoyed celebrating his "special day" with friends and family. When the kids wore tired from all the climbing and sliding Davy, Troy, and Zachary had fun trying it out ....until of course they broke it.....Thank goodness for getting insurance!
Of course his birthday fell on a week day, so I made cupcakes with blue icing for his classmates. That night Jayden started what I think will probably become a birthday tradition; as we were tucking him in he said very sweetly "Since today is my special day, Can I sleep with you and Daddy?" (Keep in mind they have never slept in our bed with us at home) How can you turn down someones "special day" wish? Of course he slept snug in our bed. However, I wont say the same for Davy and I.

In loving Memory
So much has happened since my last post. January flew into February. February ran into March, and April completely passed me by. May is now here with our two birthday celebrations and I'm left wondering where the year has gone. Unfortunately, for us April left us with a great loss. Davy's Dad, my Father in Law, the kid's PawPaw Dave passed on April 5. He left us so unexpectantly and will be missed tremindously.
While we spent April reflecting on Mr. David's life, It seems sort of a tribute to celebrate a legacy to his name, as we celebrate our two blessing's birthdays this May. We are reminded how blessed we are to be able to share in these milestones as a family. We will miss PawPaw Dave dearly and will continue to honor his memory as we go forward in life.

Happy New Year - 2010
We had our New Year's Eve party again this year. We had quite the turn out. Davy roasted a pig and we got a pallet of fireworks. We also purchased a lot of fireworks for the kids to enjoy. The bonfire seemed to be a big hit for the teenage crowd. The sparklers attracted the preschoolers and boy were there a lot of preschool aged children to enjoy them. The kids rooms looked more like classrooms than bedrooms. We enjoyed our regular guests Jennifer, Jude, Alyssa, and Mia. Jennifer and Ali and Avery also returned. Im glad Ellen, Todd, Andrew and Ryan were able to come. I think the biggest surprise guest was Susan and her parents and Im so glad they were able to bring in the New Year with us! The guest list is entirely to long to include everyone. It is so nice to bring in the New year with family and friends! I love the holidays, but I am very glad to have a break from all of our holiday gatherings. Goodbye to 2009....Hello 2010!

Christmas Day!
Santa definately made it to the Broussard household this year. I'm beginning to think he may have had to purchase a second sleigh just to haul all of Jayden and Lauren's presents! This is the first year that Jayden truly anticipated Santa coming. He went to bed easily so that Santa could hurry up and make it to his house. I woke up to get my new camera ready and I guess he heard me roll out of bed. I peeked through his door and asked if he thought Santa had passed yet? He took off running down the hall! Santa brought him a skateboard with a ramp, a boxing bag with gloves, a car mat, a new saddle with rope, a yellow Transformer, and a Truck and horse trailor. We can not fail to mention the LSU helmet and uniform which he wore the entire day. Lauren woke up right after Jayden had finished going through all of his presents and Santa didnt leave her out. She got a new baby named Rosie, a baby stroller and pack and play, and a large doll house with all the furnishings. She also got a ride and go horse which of course was named peanut after the real outside horse. We celebrated Christmas Day with all of my family as well as Dave's sister Ann and his Mom. Davy cooked not one but two turkeys! We had plenty of food and enjoyed spending time with everyone. Nana, Pawpaw Cletus, Coby, Sheryl and Zach all stayed until the evening and everyone enjoyed a tournament of sorts with Zach's new hunting game that hooks up to the T.V. We are truly blessed to have family to share these memories with.
Christmas Eve
With so many photos to choose from I decided to break down Christmas into our different family celebrations. We always celebrate Christmas Eve with Davy's Dad and StepMom Mrs. Ellen. We usually have it at thier house but for the first time in at least 14 years the location has changed. ( I say 14 years because thats how long Davy and I have been together and we have celebrated every Christmas Eve at the Broussard's household!) This year they asked us to host it at our house. So we kept the traditional Gumbo menu and enjoyed a night with all of Davy's family. Christmas Eve was always a night Full of presents. This year the highlight seemed to be the fish that Aunt/Nanny Sissy gave as gifts. Jayden named his Nemo-T-Boy Broussard and Lauren named her's Dorie, although it sounds more like Dorothy! I got a new camera and lots of items to decorate my new kitchen with. Davy got everything hunting related. Jayden picked out a beautiful fountain for me and is so proud when I plug it in! Lauren got lots of furniture for a doll house that Santa will be bringing. They both went to bed in anticipation of Santa Claus passing that night! Jayden made sure to leave out cookies for him in hopes that Santa would leave one behind for him.....
